Old School RuneScape (OSRS) is a classic MMORPG that has continued to captivate players with its rich gameplay, intricate mechanics, and nostalgic appeal. Among its many activities, one of the most rewarding and exciting methods of training thieving in the game is Pyramid Plunder. This unique mini-game offers a chance to hone your thieving skills while engaging in a multi-stage treasure hunt, with a variety of rewards that can boost your in-game wealth. In this article, we'll explore the location of Pyramid Plunder, how to play it, and provide tips to maximize your success in this engaging activity.
What is Pyramid Plunder?
Pyramid Plunder is a high-level thieving mini-game in OSRS gold that allows players to loot a series of tombs within an ancient Egyptian-style pyramid. The game is set in the Kharidian Desert region of the game world, and its layout and mechanics are inspired by ancient Egyptian burial practices. Players are tasked with navigating a pyramid, evading traps, and stealing treasures from sarcophagi while racing against time.
It is an ideal activity for players with a high level of thieving skill who want to train their thieving while also earning valuable loot such as gold, jewelry, and even ancient artifacts. Pyramid Plunder offers an exhilarating, fast-paced experience that differs from traditional thieving, and with the right approach, it can be an incredibly efficient way to train.
Location of Pyramid Plunder
The Pyramid Plunder mini-game is located in the Kharidian Desert, south of the Sophanem area, which is accessible to players who have completed the Icthlarin's Little Helper quest. The pyramid itself is located at coordinates (3314, 9374) on the world map. To reach it, players must travel south of Pollnivneach and cross the desert to the pyramid.
Getting There:
Teleport to Pollnivneach: If you have completed the "Icthlarin's Little Helper" quest, you can use the teleport spell Teleport to Pollnivneach (level 63 Magic) to get close to the pyramid.
Walking: Alternatively, you can walk from Pollnivneach to the pyramid, which will take you through the desert, making sure to bring some water skins or use the Desert amulet 4 for infinite water while in the desert.
Using the Amulet of Glory: If you have the Amulet of Glory, teleporting to Karamja and walking south to the desert also provides an option.
Once you arrive, you'll find the entrance to the pyramid located on the northern side. Here, you can enter the tomb and begin your thieving adventure.
How To Play Pyramid Plunder
Requirements to Play
Before you head into the pyramid, there are a few requirements you need to meet. These include:
Thieving Level: A minimum of level 21 Thieving is required to participate in the mini-game. However, to maximize your efficiency and rewards, it's better to have a higher thieving level, ideally level 91 to access the highest rewards.
Access to Sophanem: The Icthlarin's Little Helper quest must be completed to access the pyramid. This will also provide you with the Sophie's Scepter, which will help with a small part of the puzzle later on.
Items to Bring:
Lockpicks: These will be required to open some of the cheapest OSRS gold sarcophagi inside the pyramid.
Food/Healing: While the mini-game is relatively safe, there are some traps that can damage you, so it's a good idea to bring food or potions for healing.
Water skins or an Enchanted Water Tiara are necessary if you need to cross the desert to the pyramid, as the area can drain your run energy and health without these items.
The Pyramid Layout and How it Works
Upon entering the pyramid, you will be faced with a series of rooms, each containing sarcophagi (tombs) filled with treasure. The main objective is to loot these sarcophagi while avoiding traps and completing mini-puzzles to gain the highest possible rewards. Each room offers different rewards, but there are also dangers, such as traps and snakes, that must be avoided.
