Safety Valve Manufacturers in India

Speciality Valve is a well-known name for safety valve manufacturers in India

Speciality Valve is a well-known name for safety valve manufacturers in India, which we at Speciality also pride ourselves in. We supply top-quality, very reliable and IBR-approved safety valves for a large range of industrial applications. We design for fail-safe performance, which means our valves release extra pressure, which in turn prevents equipment damage, fires, or explosions. As the go-to company for very reliable valve solutions in the country, we also provide precise engineering and make custom valves to suit the unique requirements of our industrial clients.

What is a Safety Valve?

A safety valve is a mechanical which is meant to automatically let out of a system pressure that has exceeded a preset value. These valves play the role of the last defence against overpressure, which in turn prevents very serious equipment failures. They are mostly used in boilers, pipelines, and pressurised vessels. Also, unlike a relief valve, which will open slowly, a safety valve uses a “pop” action, which is instantaneous to release full pressure.

Safety Valve Vs Relief Valve

Although they do the same thing at root, there are key differences:

Feature

Safety Valve

Relief Valve

Response Mechanism

Immediate, pop-action

Gradual pressure relief

Common Use

Steam systems, boilers, and gas lines

Hydraulic and liquid systems

Application Focus

Fail-safe pressure release

Pressure regulation over time

Opening Trigger

Predefined set pressure

Gradual opening near set pressure

How Does a Safety Valve Work?

A safety valve is in a closed position during normal operations, which is what it is designed to do, but should the system pressure go over the set point, it will open up. We have the valve seats and spring mechanisms set to an exact bar pressure setting. At the very point the pressure is exceeded which the which that value the valve will blow out at full capacity, but once the area is back to a safe environment, it’ll close out again.

In the field, we use some of these, which are of a pop-type safety valve:

  • Spring-loaded safety valves
  • Pilot-operated safety valves
  • Balanced bellows safety valves

What is a Pressure Safety Valve?

A pressure safety valve (PSV) is what we call a safety valve, as used in gas and vapour services. In the Indian Boiler Regulations and other safety codes, PSVs are very much included, which we also see to be very strictly designed. Also, they are what we would term as a loaded pressure safety valve, which does an excellent job of precise control in oil, gas, power, and chemical industries.

How to Adjust a Safety Valve?

Fine-tuning a safety valve includes changing the spring tension, which in turn sets the pressure. Here is a basic process:.

  • Isolate the valve from the system.
  • Remove the protective cap to access the adjustment screw.
  • Turn the screw in the clockwise direction to increase the pressure setting, or rotate it in the counterclockwise direction to decrease it.
  • Reinstall the cap and run tests in a controlled environment.

For safety, that is to say, safety valve calibration should be performed only by professionals or OEMs.

Applications of Safety Valves

Safety valves are key elements in many industries:

  • Boilers and steam systems
  • Petrochemical refineries
  • Food and beverage processing
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Power plants
  • Cryogenic valves and pressure vessels

They are also present in complex pipeline networks, which include ball valves, check valves, globe valves, and gate valves, which in turn provide for redundancy and protection.

In many industries, we see that safety valves are of great importance in oil and gas, chemical plants, and industrial boilers. These fail-safe devices are a preference of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for their reliability, long service life, and versatility, which they bring to pipeline systems. It goes without saying that whether it is a high-pressure safety valve in a steam application or a pop-type safety valve used in refineries, the role is the same: that of process integrity and equipment safety. In India, safety valve manufacturers like Speciality Valve supply industrial valves to the Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR) and international standards, thus providing maximum safety and performance.

Advantages of Safety Valves

  • Ensures fail-safe system operation
  • Complies with international pressure safety standards
  • Protects costly equipment from overpressure damage
  • Easy to install and maintain
  • Suitable for a wide range of pressure applications from high to low.
  • Includes options for metal and steel piping.

Industry Highlight: Power and Steam Generation

In several sectors, but in steam and power generation, we see safety valves as the most critical element. In boilers, pressure may rise very fast, and a delay in pressure release is a cause of explosions or plant shutdowns. We at [company name] present high-quality valves, which include gun metal safety valves and bronze safety relief valves that we have engineered for boilers, which we know perform perfectly, which is a result of our attention to precision and reliability.

Types of Safety Valves Offered

  • Spring-loaded safety valve
  • Pilot-operated safety valve
  • Lever safety valve
  • Balanced bellows safety valve
  • IBR-approved safety valves
  • Pop-type safety valves
