India, a major salt producer and exporter, exported 13.73 billion kilograms of salt in 2023, with major destinations being China, South Korea, Qatar, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan produce the majority of salt, accounting for 87.4% of total production.
