AITA for refusing to dress a reality TV star because they don’t align with our values?
Posted by: @noneofusofficial | Brand: NoneOfUsOfficial (UK/USA)

Hey Reddit,

We’re NoneOfUsOfficial, an independent fashion brand based between London and LA. We make anti-corporate, artist-led streetwear—limited drops, no mass production, and everything we do is rooted in authenticity, resistance, and culture.

So here’s what happened:

A very famous reality TV star (you’d 100% know them—think glam, drama, overexposed) reached out to our PR email saying they wanted to wear our jacket from the “NO GODS. NO OWNERS.” drop for an upcoming red carpet. They offered no payment, just said, “It’ll be great exposure for your brand.”

We looked them up and, honestly, their whole vibe goes against what we stand for. Their public image is all about luxury consumerism, fast fashion partnerships, and clickbait drama. They’ve also been called out for promoting brands that use exploitative labor. Not our people.

So, we politely declined.

They replied (or their team did), basically saying,

“You’re a tiny brand—this could’ve put you on the map. Why would you say no?”

Then, one week later, they posted a cryptic story clearly referencing us, saying something like:

“Some brands think they’re too woke to grow. Enjoy your 3 likes per post.”

That got reposted. A lot. Some influencers and micro-celebs even started mocking us for “thinking we’re too cool for success.” We lost followers—but we also gained new ones who respected the stand we took.

Our own team is a bit divided. Half say we made the right call. The other half say we missed a golden opportunity for global exposure, and that no one really cares about “values” in this industry anymore.

So…
